WebIt makes a difference where you are fishing for the perch. In 20 ft - 30ft or even 40 ft of water anchoring is fine, but if you are in deeper water you should maintain a 5:1 or 7:1 anchor rode to be anchored properly. Most anglers are not prepared for this out there. WebNov 1, 2009 · This is a great starting point: the perch come and go all season through here varrying on water temps, and any given day can produce. If you do have the opportunity to get off-shore, you don't have to go far: the Inland wall and the shoals are a major wintering ground for perch.
